The CTCT division (a collaboration between Trimble and Caterpillar) aims to revolutionize how heavy equipment clients create a better world by developing the appropriate product for the right customer, targeting the correct segment, and pricing it effectively; enhancing customer productivity by demonstrating the platform engine's capabilities through straightforward applications; and empowering our parent companies to innovate on the platform.
Technologies such as GNSS, optical total stations, lasers, and sonics accurately position machinery on job sites across various applications, providing operators with precise horizontal and vertical guidance, as well as site awareness.
Data collected from the machinery and transmitted via the internet facilitates informed site management decisions to optimize outcomes across the entire site and fleet.
As a vital member of an empowered and accountable Product Team, you will take ownership of your product; creating sellable, installable, and supportable kits that enable CTCT applications to be implemented on various machine types, ensuring they are 'Grade Ready' to enhance market penetration and boost system sales revenue.
In your role as the Product Manager for the Installation Solutions team, you will be responsible for ensuring business viability and customer value while managing kits and installation components throughout the entire product lifecycle – from New Product Introduction (NPI) to Quality Assurance, Supply Continuity, Iteration, and Deprecation. You will play a crucial role in enabling CTCT to achieve its objective of providing the best dealer technician installation and commissioning experience in the machine control sector, across a valuable portfolio of tiered products that satisfy machine control clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop the Right Product:
Manage Customer Value and Business Viability Product Risks. Achieve a measurable shift in customer purchasing behavior towards selecting Trimble machine control by delivering sellable, installable, and supportable kits that make a wide range of machine types 'Trimble Ready', thereby increasing market penetration and enhancing system sales revenue.
Decisions regarding product development are supported by business case analysis that balances product, usability, and engineering feasibility risks in collaboration with Design and Technical Leads. As a recognized expert on your product's target users/customers and its practical applications, you will leverage various data sets and tools.Facilitate Team Productivity:
Provide the necessary context to the Product Team (conversations, market insights, priorities, problem statements, roadmaps, epics, user stories, backlogs, personas...)
Team Dynamics:
Understand the rationale behind decisions
Comprehend the Product Plan across four commercial budget categories, revenue drivers, unplanned deal-driven initiatives, quality, and validation
Maintain a prioritized backlog to fulfill the product plan
Ensure the team has the context required to deliver product components
Minimize product waste. The Product Manager serves as a resource for the team to address questions, clarify objectives, and empower the team to take ownership of the details.
Acceptance of Product Components:
The Product Manager is an available resource for the team to:
- Create and review acceptance criteria
- Review and provide feedback on regular demonstrations
- Facilitate connections and operational support between the Product Manager and the team to achieve product outcomes across current, next, and future horizons
Address Stakeholder Requirements:
Approve pricing for installation components and kits. Prioritize customer needs, engage with stakeholders, coordinate supplier inputs, identify dependencies, and prioritize deliverables to meet the Installation Solutions requirements of various internal and external clients. Coordinate release timelines with Machine Integration Teams to ensure all aspects of an application request (Software, MDF, Installation instructions, documentation, Kits) are delivered. Lead the strategy development and execution of the roadmap for installation instructions and documentation for Dealer Technicians. Serve the Organization: Act as a servant leader and effect change through influence and inspiration. Collaborate with other Product Leads, Product Managers, Project Managers, Verification and Validation teams, Customer Experience, and Technical Leads to plan and execute work and resolve obstacles. Continuously work to enhance both Product Leadership and interpersonal skills.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Develop project scope to address business challenges and opportunities.
- Coordinate resources across various business units, including sales and marketing, product development groups, value chain, and manufacturing.
- Oversee project progress and costs; communicate status with stakeholders and involved functional areas; address and resolve issues.
- Direct project staffing; motivate and develop project teams and their members.
- A degree in an accredited Engineering, Computer Science, or Materials Science curriculum is required.
Qualifications:

- 3+ years of experience in a Product Management or Ownership role
