Key Responsibilities- Manage the development, oversight, and reconciliation of all department budgets, including monthly financial reporting for Coaches and Administration.
- Supports all financial reporting, data collection, data analysis, and forecasting for 31 athletic programs and administrative units.
- Prepares and assists in the analysis and interpretation of financial data for budgets, capital projects, endowments, and special events.
- Support the Senior Associate Athletics Director / CFO with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing processes - including processing of accounting journal entries, transfers, and vouchers.
- Liaison with other financial departments, such as the Office of Budget and Management and Development & Alumni Relations.
- Assist in being the point of contact for areas of finance and administration, including purchasing, budget office, payroll, and accounts payable.
- Provide guidance, advice, and consultation to managers, supervisors, and staff covering a broad range of financial policies and procedures.
- Coordinate with the Assistant Director of Finance and Budget and Athletics Business Office Staff.
- Works with the Senior Associate Athletics Director/CFO, and Human Resources Manager, on Human Resources-related tasks, including serving as the initiator for PeopleSoft transactions relating to payroll - specifically salary distributions, cost transfers and additional compensation requests as needed, as well as assistance with administering the annual Department employee performance evaluation process.
- Bachelor's degree.
- Minimum of 7 years related experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience with accounting and expense management systems.
- Proactive and detail-oriented with strong follow-up skills.
- Strong Communication skills.
- An understanding of the mission and purpose of institutions of higher education.
- Experience working in a collegiate athletics department with demonstrated fiscal and operational management skills.
- Advanced in Microsoft Office/Excel.
- Experience with financial planning, analytics, and modeling.
- Advanced Degree.
