The Nursing Director, Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) is responsible for providing operational, administrative, and financial leadership and oversight to the Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) at VCU Health System. This position ensures that excellent patient care is provided by a nursing staff and team members of sufficient number and competency to meet patient needs.
Key Responsibilities- Provide operational, administrative, and financial leadership and oversight to the Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC)
- Ensure that excellent patient care is provided by a nursing staff and team members of sufficient number and competency to meet patient needs
- Develop and maintain a strong team culture, dealing appropriately with staff conflict
- Effectively communicate with staff and promote two-way communications
- Proactively promote staff satisfaction and retention and take prompt action to address concerns or issues
- Collaborate with physicians to meet patient needs and exceed patient expectations
- Maximize ASC effectiveness utilizing corporate resources appropriately and effectively
- Bachelor's degree in nursing
- Master's degree in nursing or related field preferred
- Current RN licensure in Virginia or eligible or compact state
- AHA Basic Life Support certification
- National RN Specialty Certification (NE-BC, NEA-BC, CENP, CNOR, CNAMB) preferred
- Five years (5) of relevant clinical experience with three (3) years of leadership experience in a surgery center and/or perioperative setting
Periods of high stress and fluctuating workloads may occur. General office environment. Long-distance or air travel as needed- not to exceed 10% travel. May be exposed to limited hazardous substances or body fluids.
