Position: Finishing Equipment Operator

Employment Type: Full Time

Location: Tacoma, WA, US

Classification: Hourly, Non-Exempt

Working Hours: Monday – Friday, 6AM-2:30PM, with occasional overtime or night shifts

The Finishing Equipment Operator is responsible for the operation of various finishing and binding machinery, including but not limited to stitchers, cutters, folders, gluers, and die cutting machines. We seek an individual with substantial experience in a finishing or bindery environment. This role is ideal for candidates looking for a stable opportunity within a rapidly expanding organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure timely operation of machinery within the Finishing department.
  • Adhere to established assembly practices and protocols.
  • Identify and troubleshoot issues, reporting findings to the appropriate management personnel.
  • Conduct standard finishing operations to support production needs.
  • Recognize and report defective materials or concerning conditions to supervisors.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and comply with safety regulations.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance on equipment.
  • Work overtime as required.
  • Carry out additional tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience operating finishing or bindery machinery is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

The physical demands of this position include:

  • Regular communication and auditory tasks.
  • Active role requiring standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and climbing throughout the workday.
  • Frequent lifting or moving of items exceeding 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision capabilities including close, distance, color, and peripheral vision.
  • Exposure to high noise levels, necessitating the use of hearing protection.
  • Manual dexterity and strength.
  • Flexibility in work hours may be necessary.

Work Environment:

This role is situated on the production floor within an industrial warehouse setting. Employees may encounter fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibrations. The noise level in this environment can be considerable.
