CNC Machinists (Setup Operators) are expected to possess exemplary manufacturing expertise, a solid understanding, and hands-on experience with various CNC machines and controls, demonstrating a commitment to being part of a world-class manufacturing team.
Key Responsibilities:- Execute complex machining tasks on one or more machines without technical supervision, handling challenging assignments.
- Initiate and monitor machine operations to identify malfunctions or deviations from specifications, promptly informing the lead person of any discrepancies.
- Conduct thorough inspections of the first part run.
- Achieve job standard times with minimal oversight.
- Identify production issues and communicate them to the supervisor.
- Understand basic machine language (G and M codes).
- Verify the conformance of finished workpieces to specifications using standard measuring instruments.
- Read and interpret manufacturing and engineering drawings.
- Maintain a record of high-quality work with minimal rework and scrap.
- Ensure high efficiency and run rates for assigned machines.
- Perform preventive maintenance on equipment as necessary.
- Carry out miscellaneous duties in the machine shop as directed.
- Adhere to all safety protocols established by the company, including proper equipment usage and procedures.
- Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Availability for a full-time position during specified hours.
- A minimum of four years of relevant experience, training, or certification demonstrating the ability to fulfill the responsibilities of the position.
- Proficient in understanding and interpreting technical documents, including blueprints and specifications.
- Ability to work independently, follow instructions, and maintain focus for extended periods.
- Exhibit a positive attitude towards work and punctuality.
- Proficient in using basic measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, indicators, etc.).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Mechanically inclined with good manual dexterity.

Work Environment:
A significant portion of work time is spent in a machine shop where temperatures may vary. The environment may include exposure to noise, dust, and coolant vapors.
Industry-standard safety equipment is provided, and specific notices are posted in areas where safety equipment is required.
Compensation and Benefits:- Employee Benefits:

- The compensation range for CNC Machinists in Washington is $23 – 28/hr, commensurate with experience. Some shifts may offer differential pay rates.
