Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and serve daily nourishments to residents, adhering to dietary restrictions and preferences.
  • Stock and maintain food and supply inventory, ensuring timely replenishment and minimizing waste.
  • Conduct daily temperature checks on refrigerators and freezers, and perform routine cleaning and sanitizing tasks.
  • Assist cooks with meal preparation, including food handling, cooking, and presentation.
  • Provide support on the service line during meal times, ensuring efficient and safe service.
  • Restock line fridges and prepare thickened liquids for each meal.
  • Deliver coffee carts and meal carts to units, collecting them at the end of each meal.
  • Wash dishes and meal carts after each meal service, maintaining a clean and hygienic environment.
  • Ensure work areas are kept clean and organized, completing daily cleaning tasks as assigned.
  • Remove trash and recyclables from the kitchen, breaking down boxes and maintaining a tidy workspace.
  • Follow all food and nutritional services policies and procedures, adhering to regulatory requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Food and Nutritional Services.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in food service or a related field is preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks as needed.
