Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Food Service Associate to join our team at Loretto. As a Food Service Associate, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest quality of food and service to our residents and customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with serving and delivering meals in different formats, including tray line, food production, and dining room areas.
  • Provide assistance in cold food production, food preparation, portioning, tray preparation, service, tray delivery, and ware washing.
  • Provide quality customer service to residents and customers.
  • Load soiled dishes, trays, and other ware into wash machines, remove after proper cleaning, and inspect and store as directed by site manager.
  • Maintain areas in a clean and sanitary fashion, sweep and mop areas as directed, and take tray carts or food carts to assigned floors.
  • Break down trays, clean carts, and clean all work areas after each meal.
  • Keep beverage coolers cleaned and stocked for meals, empty garbage from kitchen, dish room, cafeteria, pulper, and take to proper trash receptacles, and clean waste containers.
  • Clean and sanitize pots, pans, racks, and work areas, and may assist in cleaning major kitchen equipment such as ovens, kettles, mixers, slicers, coolers, walls, etc.
  • Monitor and record temperature of all perishable items upon storage/delivery and before and after service to ensure temperatures are within safety.
  • Monitor and record temperature of cooler and ingredient storage areas to ensure proper temperatures are maintained at all times and freshness of prepared food are maintained at all times.
  • Store all foods in correct place, wrapping, labeling, and dating all items properly to preserve and protect the quality of foods.
  • Rotate all inventory daily in each holding/storage area ensuring that items are stored chronologically (first in, first out).
  • Maintain food quality control by checking for any product that is damaged, leaking, and/or spoiled, and report any such incidence to the management for corrective action.
Requirements
  • High school diploma, GED, or ability to pass written TABE test preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand the English language.
  • Ability to follow simple oral and written directions.
  • Good customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
