Position Overview

The Facilities Service Employee is accountable for the upkeep of grounds and various maintenance responsibilities. Duties may encompass operating maintenance machinery, performing assorted maintenance tasks as assigned, and executing janitorial services as needed across all UTA locations. Responsibilities also include snow and ice management, basic irrigation system upkeep, and other service-related labor tasks as designated.

Essential Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum age of 18 years
  • At least six months of verifiable experience in facilities maintenance or landscaping, or six months of training in these fields
  • Six months in a trustworthy role, demonstrating reliability, including a clean driving record
  • Ability to obtain and sustain a DOT Medical card
  • Possession of a valid Utah driver's license
  • Safe driving record with no more than four moving violations in the past three years
  • No more than one DUI violation within the last ten years
  • Ability to complete and comprehend necessary safety training related to Facilities Maintenance applicable to Service Employees
  • Capability to maintain equipment certifications as required
  • Ability to operate a UTA assigned vehicle and tow a trailer loaded with snow removal and landscaping tools
  • Proficiency in operating and performing light maintenance on snow removal, de-icing, and landscaping equipment
  • Willingness to work overtime and holidays as necessary
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook is preferred
  • Regular and predictable attendance is required
  • -OR- An equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.

Shift: 2:00 pm to 10:30 pm with designated days off
*Shift and days off subject to change


Compensation: $26.48 per hour plus a shift differential of $1.00 to $1.50 if applicable. This position includes a five-year wage progression.
