Position Overview

The Facilities Service Employee is accountable for the upkeep of grounds and a variety of maintenance responsibilities. This role may involve operating maintenance machinery, performing assorted maintenance tasks as directed, and conducting janitorial duties at all UTA locations. Responsibilities also include snow and ice removal, basic sprinkler system upkeep, and various other service-related labor tasks as assigned.

Essential Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum age of 18 years
  • At least six months of verifiable experience in facilities maintenance or landscaping, or six months of relevant training
  • Six months in a trusted role, demonstrating reliability, including a clean driving record.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOT Medical card
  • Possession of a valid Utah driver's license
  • Safe driving record with no more than four moving violations in the past three years.
  • No more than one driving under the influence violation within the last decade.
  • Capable of completing and comprehending required safety training relevant to Facilities Maintenance for Service Employees.
  • Ability to maintain necessary equipment certifications as required.
  • Proficient in operating a UTA assigned vehicle and towing a trailer with snow removal and landscaping equipment.
  • Competent in operating and performing light maintenance on snow removal, de-icing, and landscaping machinery.
  • Availability to work overtime and holidays as needed.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook is preferred.
  • Regular and predictable attendance is a requirement.
  • -OR- An equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
    UTA reserves the right to assess the equivalencies of education and experience.

Shift Details: 2:00 pm to 10:30 pm with Sundays and Mondays off. Shift and days off may be subject to change.


Compensation: $26.48 per hour plus a shift differential of $1.00 to $1.50 if applicable. This position includes a five-year wage progression.
