Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Support Specialist to join our team at Prisma Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support.

About the Job:

This is a non-management position that will report to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive. The ideal candidate will have a High School diploma or equivalent and completion of a nursing assistant or patient care tech program. A Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification is also required. Additionally, the selected candidate should possess basic computer skills, knowledge of office equipment, data entry skills, mathematical skills, and experience with patient equipment such as suction machines and vital sign monitors.

Key Responsibilities:

* Assist patients with activities of daily living, including turning and repositioning patients alone or with assistance.
* Provide patient care as delegated by the RN, including non-sterile soaks, application of non-sterile simple dressings, and perineal care.
* Perform data collection, including vital signs, fluid intake and output, and basic and sterile specimen collection. Properly document and maintain data on medical records and inform RN of activities performed, observations of patients, and changes in patient status.
* Run errands, answer telephones, and respond to call lights.
* Perform point-of-care testing as trained and delegated by RN. Report lab values to RN.

Salary Information:

The estimated salary for this position is $45,000 - $55,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
