Job Summary

This is a seasoned and hands-on leadership role with a solid background in upscale restaurant management. The successful candidate will play a key role in providing strategic direction to restaurant general managers and executive chefs, driving operational excellence and revenue growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Direction: Provide visible leadership to management and employees, fostering a restaurant atmosphere focused on exceptional hospitality.
  • Operational Excellence: Work within existing policies and procedures to ensure goals are achieved relating to revenue and growth, driving operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Talent Management: Attract, retain, and motivate top talent; interview, hire, schedule, train, develop, empower, coach, and counsel employees, conduct performance and salary reviews, resolve problems, and provide open communications.
  • Performance Evaluation: Conduct timely performance evaluations, recommend promotions or corrective actions, and ensure general managers are doing the same.
  • Best Practices: Supervise the implementation of best practices, provide training and mentoring, and manage the restaurant to achieve customer satisfaction, quality service, and compliance with corporate policies and procedures and Federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Financial Management: Forecast, implement, monitor, control, and report on budgets and their components (labor costs, food costs, beverage costs, supplies, equipment, etc.) to maximize revenue and minimize expenses.
  • Customer Focus: Respond to customer trends, needs, issues, comments, and problems to ensure a quality experience and enhance future sales prospects.
  • Marketing and Promotions: Create, recommend, and implement promotions, displays, food presentations, and ideas to bring in more guests and gain a larger share of the local market.
  • Facilities and Maintenance: Monitor and control the maintenance and sanitation of all areas of the restaurant and equipment to protect assets, comply with regulations, and ensure quality service.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure operational and training standards are consistently followed and executed, and comply with attendance rules and be available to work regularly.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Bachelors degree and equivalent work-related experience is strongly preferred; 3+ years of full employment in a restaurant or related position.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Thorough knowledge of restaurant practices and procedures to analyze data, diagnose issues, and coach the operations team accordingly; ability to make decisions guided by established policy and procedures.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to be concise, well-organized, complete, and clear; excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively under time constraints and deadlines.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to move throughout all food and beverage areas and continuously perform essential job functions.
