Pharmacy Manager Job Description

Weis Markets is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pharmacy Manager to lead our pharmacy team. As a Pharmacy Manager, you will be responsible for the overall management of the pharmacy department, including supervising pharmacists and pharmacy associates, managing inventory, and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and manage the work of pharmacists and pharmacy associates to ensure excellent customer service and high-quality patient care.
  • Manage pharmacy inventory, including ordering and tracking pharmaceutical stock, to maximize profits and meet customer demand.
  • Develop and implement strategies to grow script growth and improve profitability through clinical programs, immunizations, and other initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the pharmacy district manager and staff to control inventories and optimize pharmacy operations.
  • Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers with medical-related issues and providing healthcare counseling.
  • Direct training, coaching, discipline, and management of all pharmacy associates.
  • Maintain appropriate security of the pharmacy department and handle customer issues, complaints, and questions to build customer trust and loyalty.
  • Interact with physicians and utilize reference material to gain information on customers and prescriptions and to resolve any issues that arise.
  • Assist with maintaining the pharmacy department by keeping it clean and in order.
  • Regularly review ongoing training and development of department personnel to improve performance, ensure continuous development, reduce turnover, and control labor costs.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree (BS) or Doctoral degree (PHARM.D.) in Pharmacy or equivalent.
  • Two (2) years of retail pharmacy experience.
  • Immunization Certification through an accredited organization (i.e., APhA).
