About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Cybersecurity Automation Engineer to join our team at THE TRAVELERS INDEMNITY COMPANY. As a key member of our Cybersecurity team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining security systems to protect our company's information and resources.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide operational support, troubleshooting, and maintenance of security-related processes, controls, or products.
  • Analyze and resolve problems of medium to high complexity, independently and effectively.
  • Configure, test, document, and implement new or upgraded security processes, controls, or products as directed.
  • Participate in resolving situations involving improper attempts to access or infiltrate our networks.
  • Recommend changes to area procedures and products, and implement with management review.
  • Support reviewing or identifying and responding to security events and escalating to management.
  • Consult with business peers to support and resolve cybersecurity events.
  • Understand and have input to the budget process, and share responsibility for cost-effective expense control of assigned projects.
  • Participate in Security and enterprise projects as assigned.
  • Act as a security representative at design and new technology meetings.
  • Provide guidance to more junior employees.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in a STEM discipline preferred.
  • Five years of relevant experience with Cybersecurity practices, processes, and Cybersecurity event investigation/resolution preferred.
  • Experience in some discipline of data analysis and root cause analysis.
  • Experience developing or scripting with Python.
  • Experience deploying and administering AWS infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with API architecture, and direct experience with API scripting outputs via Python/curl for integration with disparate systems is highly preferred.
  • Experience with CI/CD and deployment pipelines, including GitHub actions, is preferred.
  • Experience with terminal/scripting programs (PowerShell, shell (bash), etc.) is helpful.
  • Experience with other programming languages (Go, Java, JavaScript, etc.) is helpful.
