Berlin, New Jersey, United States Uncommon Schools Full time

Company Overview
Uncommon Schools is a nonprofit organization dedicated to establishing high-performing public charter schools that deliver exceptional K-12 education in historically underserved communities.

Our schools reflect the diversity of our student body, with over 60% of our educators and staff identifying as people of color.

Uncommon currently oversees 53 schools, serving more than 20,000 students across five cities: Boston, Camden, New York City, Newark, and Rochester.

We take pride in the fact that our graduates persist in and complete college at five times the national average.

This success is achieved through a robust academic framework, co-curricular activities, and social-emotional learning that equips students for college and future endeavors.

Camden Prep manages four schools catering to students from grades K through 10, with plans to expand to grade 12.

We emphasize the importance of authentic relationships between educators and students, supported by effective school systems and an engaging instructional model that fosters both academic and personal growth.

Position Overview
Middle School Science Educators at Uncommon Schools collaborate within grade-level teams to equip all students with the necessary tools and knowledge to engage critically in the scientific field.

Central to all Science courses is a passion for the subject and inquiry-based learning, emphasizing student discourse and scientific practices.

Our educators utilize diverse instructional strategies to ignite a passion for scientific inquiry and analysis among their students.

They strive for mastery of the subject while being attuned to the socio-emotional transitions that middle school students undergo.

By the end of eighth grade, students are prepared for the academic independence and college preparatory focus of our high schools.
