Position Summary:
As a Registered Nurse specializing in outpatient care, you will employ the nursing process to deliver and oversee primary nursing services for patients facing cardiovascular, pulmonary, and vascular health challenges. This role involves conducting thorough assessments, planning, implementing interventions, and evaluating complex multisystem health care needs, particularly for patients with unpredictable outcomes.
Your responsibilities will include managing multiple tasks simultaneously while demonstrating strong clinical problem-solving abilities. You will receive support from the nurse manager, assistant nurse manager, and charge nurse in taking on leadership roles within the unit, which may include serving as Charge Nurse, leading committees, and facilitating unit orientation and education.
Experience Requirements:
A minimum of one year of experience in cardiopulmonary nursing is required for telemetry units, along with two years of critical care nursing experience for critical care units. Additionally, you must complete Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation, IV Therapy Certification, Hemodynamics, and Mock Code Workshop within 90 days of hire or promotion, or at the first available course offering.
Educational Qualifications:
A graduate of an accredited diploma, associate degree, or baccalaureate degree nursing program is mandatory. A bachelor's degree in nursing is preferred, and non-BSN nurses must obtain a BSN within five years of hire.
Licenses and Certifications:
Applicants must possess a valid NJ State Nursing License and BLS certification. ACLS and PALS certifications are preferred.
Essential Skills:
Strong interpersonal, critical thinking, analytical, and basic computer skills are essential for this role.
Patient Population:
This position primarily serves adult patients, including early adults, middle adults, late adults, and seniors (over 80 years).
Work Schedule:
This role requires a commitment of 60 hours per pay period on the day shift.
