Job Title: Performer

Join The Franklin Institute as a Performer and become a key part of our team that brings science to life for our visitors. As a Performer, you will be responsible for delivering high-energy entertainment experiences that captivate and educate our guests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform live shows and demonstrations in assigned areas, ensuring a fun and educational experience for our visitors.
  • Lead science experiences, including performing live shows, demonstrations, and interacting with guests in exhibits.
  • Develop and maintain skills and knowledge to deliver high-quality shows, appearances, and integrity.
  • Assist with general cleaning of specified areas and work collaboratively with the team to increase productivity and provide excellent guest service.
  • Develop an understanding of exhibit content and activities grounded in STEM principles.
  • Handle chemicals and materials, including liquid nitrogen, hydrogen, helium, carbon dioxide, and oxygen gases, as well as dissection scalpels, with proper training.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Deliver high-energy entertainment experiences, with experience in delivering fun and engaging performances.
  • Interest in learning about science and value the importance of science communication.
  • Able to communicate effectively in a professional manner with co-workers, supervisors, and guests.
  • Excellent customer service experience.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and work for prolonged periods of time.
  • Previous experience in education and visitor services in an attraction setting preferred.
  • Fluent in Spanish preferred.
