About the Role

South Oxford Management is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for performing technical and mechanical work to ensure the physical aspects of our buildings, grounds, amenities, and common areas meet our standards for cleanliness, appearance, safety, and overall functionality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine work orders at the community, including emergency and on-call tickets
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance
  • Take pride in the apartment community, visually inspecting and addressing areas of concern, keeping the community clean, and making note of service needs
  • Diagnose and perform maintenance/repairs, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and pool maintenance
  • Keep the Maintenance Shop stocked, organized, and clean
  • Be mindful of the condition of the community and initiate action to correct unsafe conditions
  • Report major repairs and needs requisitions to the maintenance supervisor and property manager
  • Remove and transfer appliances, abandoned furniture, and equipment
  • Schedule and perform routine preventive maintenance
  • Provide outstanding customer service to residents and future residents
  • Inspect and help coordinate all make-ready repairs and services
  • Help the team anticipate problems that residents might have before they occur
  • Act as the gatekeeper of maintenance information, tracking and assigning everything from resident service requests to preventive maintenance records
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor or Community Manager

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Willingness to work a flexible work week, including weekends, holidays, overtime, and on-call hours
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • Must be able to walk the property, including climbing stairs
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, kneel, climb stairs, push, pull, reach, carry supplies
  • Stand for extended periods of time
  • May be required to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance
  • Travel up to 10% or rarely
