Key Responsibilities:

  • Welcome, guide, and schedule patients and visitors. Collect insurance and patient details, provide necessary forms for tests or internal communications, and obtain required signatures. Input new and existing patient data into the system. Handle incoming calls, arrange appointments for patients, and relay messages or calls as needed. Execute patient care tasks within the framework of data entry and patient account management. Process payments, address inquiries regarding insurance claims, and assist with obtaining disability benefits, home health services, medical equipment, surgical care, medical records, and patient referrals. Communicate with patients, families, visitors, and team members in a compassionate, friendly, and professional manner. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Education necessary for effective written and verbal communication. Familiarity with office procedures, medical terminology, and insurance processes is advantageous. Proficiency in computer usage, typing skills, and basic mathematics is required. One year of experience in a clinical setting is preferred, or two years in a customer-facing role. CPR certification is a plus.

Additional Skills:

  • Ability to greet patients and answer phones in a courteous and helpful manner. Capacity to sort, read, comprehend, and follow written and verbal instructions. Skill in organizing and filing materials accurately using alphabetical, numerical, or color-coded systems. Must demonstrate initiative and readiness to take on extra responsibilities in the front office during absences and adapt to varying workloads. Effective communication skills to establish and maintain positive working relationships with patients, staff, and the public.
