Job Summary

City Light & Power, Inc. is seeking a skilled High Voltage Electrical Maintenance Specialist to join our team at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland. As a Journeyman Lineman, you will be responsible for performing maintenance, repair, and installation of electrical equipment at our client site.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform inspection, testing, and repair of electrical equipment, including transformers, switches, and circuit breakers.
  • Experience in pulling, repairing, and terminating electrical cables, including 5kV and 15kV cables.
  • Repair and replace underground electrical cables, and install and test multifunction power meters and streetlights.
  • Consult manuals, schematics, and engineering personnel to troubleshoot and solve equipment problems.
  • Prepare and maintain reports detailing all tests, repairs, and maintenance performed.
  • Utilize GPS tablets for data recording and preventative maintenance.
  • Operate cranes, digger trucks, aerial trucks, and other equipment necessary to complete related work.
  • Available to work scheduled hours and for on-call hours, responding to emergency callouts and remote assignments to restore electrical service.
  • Provide effective and timely customer service to clients and fellow team members.
Requirements
  • Journey-level knowledge and skills in the electrical lineman trade, including proficiency in use of all tools.
  • Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL-A) required.
  • Must be a US Citizen and obtain Military Base Access Security Clearance.
  • Become signatory to local union IBEW 24 and pay IBEW 24's required dues.
