Job Title: Principal Investigator

Join the University of California, Office of the President, as a Principal Investigator and play a critical role in upholding the institution's commitment to a safe and inclusive environment. As a key member of our team, you will investigate complaints alleging violations of University policies, ensuring that all parties are treated with dignity and respect.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough and impartial investigations of workplace complaints, gathering evidence and interviewing witnesses as needed.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of University policies and procedures, as well as relevant federal and state laws.
  • Collaborate with campus Title IX Officers, Compliance Officers, and other stakeholders to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated approach to addressing workplace complaints.
  • Provide training and education to University employees on effective investigation techniques and best practices for preventing and responding to workplace harassment and discrimination.
  • Stay up-to-date on relevant legislation, case law, and guidance related to workplace harassment and discrimination, ensuring that our investigations are informed by the latest developments in the field.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in workplace investigations or a related field.
  • Advanced knowledge of best practices and methodologies for conducting investigations, including interviewing, gathering and analyzing evidence, and writing investigation reports.
  • Experience investigating workplace harassment or other sensitive allegations in an empathetic and confidential manner.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion when handling sensitive information.
  • Proven ability to communicate complex information to all levels of management and administrators in a clear and concise manner.
What We Offer:
  • A competitive salary range of $155,000 - $171,500, commensurate with experience.
