We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our Neurosurgery team at Northwest Community Hospital. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the growth and success of our neurosurgery practice.
Job Summary:The APP will work closely with our neurosurgery team to provide comprehensive care to patients with spinal pathology. This includes rounding and managing inpatient services, assisting in the operating room, and supporting multiple clinics. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in neurosurgery and excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
Responsibilities:- Provide high-quality patient care, including routine diagnostic, therapeutic, and invasive surgical procedures
- Assist with pre-admission testing and explain procedures to patients
- Develop inpatient and outpatient care plans, participate in post-procedure follow-up, and write orders for appropriate medical care
- Act as first or second assist in the operating room
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team to provide optimal patient care
- Perform relevant bedside procedures for stabilization and optimization of patients in the neuro critical care unit
- Participate in program improvement teams and educational program development
- Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program or Master's Degree in Nursing
- Current Illinois Physician Assistant license or Illinois nursing license and Advance Practice Nursing license
- Prescriptive authority and controlled substance licensure as needed
- Minimum 1-year recent acute care experience in a hospital setting preferred
- Certified as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
The APP will work in a fast-paced inpatient/hospital, office/clinic, operating room, and classroom environment. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team setting.
