Job Overview

As a vital member of the healthcare delivery team, the Registered Nurse will provide comprehensive nursing care and counseling services across various medical disciplines, adhering to established protocols. This role involves supporting clinician staff in delivering clinical services and offering direct patient care in areas such as Family Planning, Prenatal, Abortion, and Colposcopy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver nursing care and counseling in family planning, prenatal, colposcopy, abortion, and HIV services, following established protocols.
  • Coordinate patient care with clinicians, screening for psychosocial, medical, and nutritional issues, and providing necessary counseling, education, and referrals.
  • Oversee all aspects of abortion care, including acting as Charge Nurse to manage patient flow, and providing counseling for patients undergoing medical or surgical abortions.
  • Assist in emergency situations by conducting nursing assessments and interventions.
  • Conduct follow-up calls to patients post-surgical abortion within 24-48 hours and complete necessary documentation.
  • Triage family planning and gynecological patients, assisting providers as required.
  • Prepare and administer medications and immunizations in accordance with standing orders.
  • Support clinicians in patient follow-up activities related to abnormal laboratory results, pap smears, etc.
  • Provide phone triage for patients with medical inquiries and concerns.
  • Perform laboratory tests and follow up on abnormal results in collaboration with clinicians.
  • Screen hormonal contraceptive users for warning signs and minor side effects, authorizing refills as directed by the clinician.
  • Manage the prenatal program, ensuring patients receive coordinated care, including education and tracking of labs and referrals.
  • Conduct chart audits and surveys as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Current Registered Nurse license in good standing.
  • Current CPR/BLS certification required.
  • One to two years of clinical experience in women's health or ob/gyn nursing, or a comparable combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse team of staff and clients.
  • Flexibility to work varying hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Proficient in using a computer for documentation, communication, and research.

Compensation: $55.00 per hour. The listed salary range represents a good faith estimate of potential base compensation for this position and may be adjusted in the future based on various factors.
