The Mechanical Design Engineer will play a crucial role in the design of prefabricated metal enclosures, utilizing SolidWorks computer software on a daily basis to complete assigned work.
Key Responsibilities:- Create 2D and 3D electronic design plans for prefabricated enclosures, encompassing structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and communication systems, including duct systems, piping systems, mechanical equipment, and electrical equipment using AutoCAD and SolidWorks software.
- Develop and modify technical drawings and schematics.
- Coordinate the routing of ductwork, piping, and miscellaneous components with other trades.
- Review design models with the design team during the design phase.
- Meet with customers regularly to coordinate and communicate design.
- Support GTI's Engineers and Designers.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred.
- 10-15 years of experience in the production of detailed fabrication design drawings and documents.
- Experience with the interconnectivity of mechanical weldments, mechanical fastening, tolerances, adjustability, and clearances.
- Experience overseeing multiple projects.
- Experience in the production of fabrication drawings and review of documents for completeness, including review of PDFs prior to release to fabrication.
- Must have experience in manufacturing.
- Must have skills in critical thinking, problem-solving, strong technical background, and communication.
- Software Requirements: Solidworks, AutoCAD, Adobe, Microsoft products.
- Ability to provide a portfolio with examples of fabrication drawings.
