We are seeking an exceptional Membership Services Ambassador to join our team at the YMCA of Metro Atlanta. This role is a key contributor to our mission of positively impacting lives and communities across the state.

About the Role:

  • You will provide excellent customer service to members, guests, and program participants, contributing to member retention.
  • Welcome members as they enter and leave the YMCA, providing a warm and welcoming environment.
  • Greet, engage, and/or provide tours to prospective members and program participants, showcasing the benefits of membership.
  • Support and/or directly involved in the sale of memberships and/or program registrations, meeting sales targets.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of our programs and services, enabling you to respond quickly to member inquiries.
  • Become a trusted advisor to members, volunteers, and collaborative partners, building strong relationships.
  • Directly handle and resolve membership concerns, escalating unusual situations or unresolved issues to your supervisor.
  • Implement safety protocols related to branch operations, ensuring a safe environment for all.
  • Take a leadership role in promoting positive member and staff safety, adhering to certification requirements.
  • Maintain confidentiality by not sharing personal information about members, adhering to privacy guidelines.
  • Stay up-to-date with policies and procedures, implementing changes as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with members, guests, program participants, and volunteers, providing assistance when needed.
  • Participate in the annual branch Why It Matters Campaign, achieving individual and team goals.
  • Attend all required staff meetings and trainings, staying informed about company updates.

Requirements:

  • A working knowledge of computers (MS Word, MS Excel)
  • Ability to multitask, work independently, problem-solve, and manage time effectively
  • High degree of human relations skills: Effective communication and conflict resolution
  • Establish and maintain relationships with staff, members, volunteers, schools, and public entities

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

  • 1+ years of experience in customer-facing roles, either paid or volunteer
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
  • Previous experience in non-profit or community-based organizations

Work Environment & Physical Demands: Bending, stooping, standing, lifting, seeing, hearing, keyboard input, sitting.

Estimated Salary: $42,000 - $55,000 per year, based on location and experience.
