Job Summary

The Exhaust System Mechanical Design Engineer will lead the design of module-level exhaust systems, providing guidance and ownership of various components and subassemblies. This role requires strong project management skills, including financial and personnel planning, with a focus on delivering high-quality designs on time.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute design, analysis, and evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, and product requirements.
  • Develop specialized knowledge in mechanical engineering and serve as a best practice/quality resource.
  • Contribute to strategy and policy development, ensuring delivery within area of responsibility.
  • Lead small projects with moderate risks and resource requirements, explaining complex information and building consensus.
  • Act as a resource for colleagues with less experience and provide guidance and influence to others.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university or college.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Design Engineering.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Security Clearance at the Secret level.
Desired Characteristics
  • Minimum of 7 years' experience in Design Engineering.
  • Master's Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
  • Existing US Government Secret clearance.
  • Demonstrated experience with exhaust nozzles, structures, ducts, and liners.
  • In-depth understanding of engineering technology and tools such as Ansys, Siemens NX, Finite Element Analysis, and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing.
  • Ability to guide and influence others, navigate ambiguous design challenges, and think systemically in a teaming environment.
