Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Radiologic Imaging Specialist to join our team at UNC Health. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for providing and teaching diagnostic procedures in the field of radiologic imaging.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide and teach diagnostic procedures in radiologic imaging, maintaining knowledge of radiation protection and safety, general and electrical safety, infection control, TB, and standard precautions.
  • Prepare for and assist radiologists in completing intricate radiographic procedures, preparing and administering contrast media and medications in accordance with state and federal regulations.
  • Perform patient assessments and provide patient care, evaluating the appropriateness of examinations and assessing the quality of radiographic images.
  • Ensure that patient demographic, emulsion markers, and examination requests are correct, critique, orient, and save all pertinent images, transmit QA-ed images to PACS, and document completion and/or cancellation of all procedures in RIS.
  • Perform work in a timely manner, produce quality radiographic images on a consistent and ongoing basis, analyze requests, and draw appropriate conclusions for examination and action plans.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree or completion of an accredited Radiologic Sciences Program.
  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiological Sciences or registry eligible and become registered within one year from date of hire.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification.
Working Conditions

This is a full-time position with a standard work schedule of 36 hours per week. The work environment is fast-paced and requires attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team setting.
