About the Role

We are seeking a skilled MRI Imaging Specialist to join our team at UNC Health Care. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging team, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the advancement of medical imaging technology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Verify patient identification and obtain patient history to ensure accurate and safe imaging procedures.
  • Operate MRI scanners and other equipment to acquire and analyze patient diagnostic data.
  • Administer oral and IV contrast to patients according to established protocols.
  • Transfer images to PACS and other systems, ensuring accurate and timely transmission.
  • Perform other duties as required, including maintaining a clean and orderly work environment and precepting new employees and students.

Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited educational program in Radiological Science or completion within 3 months at time of application.
  • Registration with the American Registry of Radiological Sciences or registry eligibility.
  • Advanced certification in MR within one year of employment.
  • Current competency in HCP BLS.

Work Environment

This is a per diem position with a variable work schedule. The successful candidate will be employed by UNC Health Care and will be required to maintain current registry status and continuing education requirements annually.
