Job Description

**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Biller/Collector Specialist to join our team at Prestige Staffing - Healthcare Jobs - Revenue Cycle. As a key member of our revenue cycle team, you will be responsible for managing follow-up claim queues, organizing daily workload, and ensuring timely payment from insurance and government payers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage follow-up claim queues for assigned clients and organize daily workload accordingly.
  • Follow-up on unpaid claims within standard billing cycle timelines using payer websites or by calling the payer.
  • Research and appeal denied claims with insurance and government payers. Effectively communicate status of claims by utilizing practice management software to track claim status and notes.
  • Respond to account manager inquiries regarding claim follow-up status, appropriately documenting all actions taken for client review.
  • Support patient service representatives by occasionally providing backup phone coverage for incoming patient calls.
  • Organize and manage workload efficiently, effectively, and independently.

Requirements:

  • Two-to-four years established success in an insurance follow-up role.
  • Healthcare industry background, laboratory environment preferred.
  • An understanding of CPT and diagnosis (ICD-10) codes.
  • Certified coding background, certification, or relevant experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of payer websites with ability to expertly maneuver the various sites.
  • Experience with practice management software, Allscripts products preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Integrity and honesty above reproach.
  • Able to thrive in a small, informally structured, fast-paced, entrepreneurial group.

What We Offer:

  • Competitive hourly rate of $21-25/hour depending on years of experience.
  • Monday-Friday, normal business hours.
  • Opportunity to work in a hybrid role with 2-3 days/week in office once trained.
