Job Overview:
The Facilities Custodian I is responsible for the thorough cleaning and upkeep of various areas including hallways, offices, classrooms, restrooms, and communal spaces. Key responsibilities include:
  • Daily cleaning of floors and surfaces, including sweeping, dusting, and mopping.
  • Regular maintenance of all floor coverings through vacuuming, shampooing, and waxing.
  • Cleaning of entrances, walkways, and outdoor areas.
  • Spot cleaning of glass surfaces and light fixtures.
  • Emptying and sanitizing waste receptacles and recycling bins.

Work Schedule:
Standard hours are from 5:00 AM to 1:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Flexibility in workdays and hours may be required to accommodate special events or departmental needs. Overtime may be necessary.

This position is classified as Essential Personnel according to university policy.

A background check and post-offer assessment will be required.

Salary:
$15.00 per hour

Minimum Qualifications:
Completion of ninth grade.

Preferred Qualifications:
High school diploma and two years of experience in commercial custodial services.
