Job Responsibilities

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Maintain cleanliness of building floors through various methods including sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and vacuuming.
  • Collect and dispose of trash and recycling materials.
  • Service and maintain restrooms, ensuring they are clean and well-stocked.
  • Polish and clean furniture and fixtures to maintain a presentable environment.
  • Operate cleaning equipment such as floor scrubbers and vacuums.
  • Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors using appropriate cleaning solutions.
  • Dust and wipe down furniture, walls, machines, and equipment.
  • Prepare cleaning solutions by mixing water with detergents or other chemicals as needed.
  • Perform floor maintenance including stripping, sealing, finishing, and polishing.
  • Restore building interiors affected by fire, smoke, or water damage using commercial cleaning tools.
  • Change light bulbs and air filters as required.
  • Assist in moving heavy furniture and equipment as necessary.
  • Maintain outdoor areas by mowing lawns and trimming shrubbery.
  • Notify management of any significant repair needs or system malfunctions.
  • Clear snow from walkways and parking areas during winter months.
  • Request necessary supplies and equipment for cleaning and maintenance tasks.
  • Set up and arrange facilities for events, including decorations and furniture.
  • Apply pest control measures to prevent infestations.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Entry-level position with relevant experience preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend basic instructions.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Regularly lift and carry up to 10 pounds; frequently lift and carry up to 25 pounds; occasionally lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Perform overhead tasks while balancing on a ladder.
  • Bend, kneel, twist, and reach to access hard-to-reach areas.
  • Exert maximum muscle force for lifting, pushing, or pulling objects.
  • Ability to see details at close range.
