Recreation Manager

As a Recreation Manager with the Kerrville - City of, you will oversee the management of all aspects of aquatics, athletic, and recreation programs, as well as community special events. This role involves supervising and coordinating staff, planning and managing programs and events, preparing and monitoring budgets, and interacting with city departments and employees. The ideal candidate will have a flexible schedule and be able to work effectively in a team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage the Aquatics, Community Events, Recreation, Tennis, and other assigned divisions and personnel, including hiring, training, and scheduling of staff.
2. Monitor and evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of service delivery methods and procedures, and identify opportunities for improvement.
3. Maintain harmony among staff and resolve conflicts and grievances, and assist subordinates in understanding and performing their duties.
4. Effectively manage operations, programs, and marketing through proper allocation of staff, equipment, and budget, and create and maintain accurate records and budgets.
5. Conduct revenue collection and manage fiscal areas and performance of assigned divisions, and produce programs and special events from conception to completion.
6. Responsible for all marketing initiatives for the assigned divisions, department in general, and other marketing tasks as assigned, and stay abreast of new trends and innovations in the Parks and Recreation industry.
Requirements:
The successful candidate will have a strong background in recreation management, excellent communication and leadership skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. They will also have a flexible schedule and be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
