Illumination Foundation (IF) is a dynamic non-profit organization committed to breaking the cycle of homelessness through specialized, interdisciplinary services in our recuperative care centers, emergency shelters, housing assistance, and programs for children and families. With over 13 facilities and more than 22 micro-communities across Orange County, Los Angeles County, and the Inland Empire, we are dedicated to making a difference.

Position Summary

The Site Attendant will support clients with their immediate daily living needs while ensuring the upkeep of the facility.

The starting compensation for this role is $18.00 per hour. This position operates on a swing shift from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM and is eligible for a $1.00 swing shift differential and a $2.00 graveyard shift differential.

Key Responsibilities

Client Support:

  • Prepare and serve meals to clients, adhering to food safety standards.
  • Assist with client intakes and discharges by preparing their living areas and explaining site rules and policies.
  • Conduct regular check-ins with clients and perform walkthroughs of dormitory areas to ensure safety and well-being.

Client Transportation:

  • Transport clients to appointments and program activities as scheduled or authorized.
  • Maintain transportation logs and report any vehicle issues to the Supervisor.
  • Ensure cleanliness of company vehicles.

Facility Maintenance:

  • Perform routine cleaning and maintenance tasks, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and sanitizing bathrooms, kitchens, and living areas.
  • Keep cleaning logs updated.
  • Dispose of accumulated trash throughout the facility.
  • Ensure restrooms and kitchens are adequately stocked with necessary supplies.
  • Oversee the client storage and retrieval process.

Physical Requirements

The following physical demands are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this position:

  • Ability to operate necessary equipment and lift or move up to 35 pounds.
  • Subject to standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, kneeling, pushing, and pulling.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of one year of previous employment experience.
  • At least one year of experience in residential or supported living environments.
  • Valid California Driver's License.
  • Experience working with homeless populations is preferred.
  • Bilingual candidates are preferred.
