Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Manager to join our team at Princeton University. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for promoting a high degree of professionalism in cradle-to-grave procurement activities, minimizing risks to the University while meeting procurement objectives and ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in procurement, contract administration, or a related field, with a proven track record of developing and executing sourcing strategies and events. You will lead supplier negotiations, analyze proposals, and facilitate competitive bidding events, promoting the utilization of online competitive bidding technology.

As a Procurement Manager, you will provide procurement advice, guidance, and support to project teams, project managers, and other stakeholders through engagement and consultation, assessment and understanding of needs and requirements, application of procurement knowledge and expertise, problem-solving, and dispute intervention and resolution.

You will also leverage various systems to implement standard analytics and reports to monitor key performance indicators, partner with procurement staff to identify, document, and prioritize process issues and enhancement requests, and engage and coordinate with other users and stakeholders to develop and implement process improvements and solutions.

The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical ability to quickly gather facts, perform root cause analysis, and draw conclusions, as well as excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills for interaction with team members and stakeholders.

Responsibilities
  • Develops sourcing strategies and action plans for design, construction, and related contract agreements.

Requirements
  • Seven to ten years of experience in procurement, contract administration, or a related field.
  • Three to five years of supervisory experience.
  • Superior analytical ability to quickly gather facts, perform root cause analysis, and draw conclusions.
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills for interaction with team members and stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in supply chain management, economics, finance, operations, business, or a relevant discipline.
  • CPM or CPSM certification.
  • MBA, MS, or a relevant advanced degree.
