Job Summary

As a Senior Sous Chef at Marriott International Inc, you will be accountable for the overall success of the daily kitchen operations. This role requires a high level of culinary expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to maintain a high-quality product while ensuring exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leading Culinary Team: Utilize your interpersonal and communication skills to lead, influence, and encourage your team members. Advocate sound financial and business decision-making, and demonstrate honesty and integrity in your leadership.
  • Managing Kitchen Operations: Supervise and manage employees, ensuring the day-to-day operations run smoothly. Understand employee positions well enough to perform duties in their absence.
  • Ensuring Culinary Standards: Develop, design, or create new applications, ideas, relationships, systems, or products, including artistic contributions. Supervise kitchen shift operations and ensure compliance with all Food & Beverage policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Providing Exceptional Customer Service: Manage day-to-day operations, ensuring the quality, standards, and meeting the expectations of customers on a daily basis. Improve service by communicating and assisting individuals to understand guest needs, providing guidance, feedback, and individual coaching when needed.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED; 4 years of experience in the culinary, food and beverage, or related professional area. Alternatively, a 2-year degree from an accredited university in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or a related major; 2 years of experience in the culinary, food and beverage, or related professional area.
  • Skills and Qualifications: Strong leadership and communication skills, ability to maintain a high-quality product, and exceptional customer service skills.
