This position is rooted in service excellence, requiring not only adept customer service skills but also a genuine enthusiasm for assisting pet owners. As a Pet Host, you will be the welcoming face of our establishment. Your primary responsibilities will include managing the check-in process for arriving clients, overseeing check-out for departing clients, facilitating follow-up reservations, promoting activity packages and daycare services, greeting all visitors, and addressing general inquiries about our services.
A Day in the Life:

Your ultimate aim is to discover how we can best serve each pet parent and provide tailored solutions. You will juggle multiple tasks, such as answering phones, escorting dogs to their designated areas, distributing treats, or processing payments. Your interactions will not only be with the pets but also with their owners, documenting observations to share with your supervisor and the pet parent. And yes, be prepared for some hands-on pet care, including cleaning up after them and enjoying plenty of affectionate greetings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver outstanding customer service by adhering to our service principles, ensuring every client is treated with respect and dignity to foster strong relationships.
- Handle all incoming communications, including calls, voicemails, and emails.
- Coordinate boarding reservations and schedule grooming, training, and temperament assessments.
- Manage financial transactions and maintain accurate reporting.
- Build rapport with clients and remember their pets' names.
- Gather and verify all necessary information regarding a pet's visit, ensuring accuracy in our records.
- Collaborate closely with fellow staff members to address client and pet needs effectively.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of all services provided and offer solutions to meet client requirements.
- Collect vaccination records from veterinary offices and input them into our systems.
- Assist in managing waitlists during peak times and ensure optimal use of available accommodations.
- Act as a communication bridge between veterinarians and clients, keeping all parties informed of any ongoing issues.
- Proactively reach out to our top clients to secure reservations during busy periods.

- Ensure the facility consistently meets cleanliness and safety standards.
- Notify management when inventory levels are low in key areas.
- Maintain all common areas in a clean and hazard-free condition.
- Work collaboratively with other departments to enhance service delivery.
Desired Qualities:
- A genuine passion for animal care and a willingness to learn about animal behavior for their safety.
- Strong customer service orientation, with the ability to manage challenging situations with empathy.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to foster lasting client relationships.
- Ability to multitask and maintain a keen attention to detail.
- Physical capability to handle dogs of various sizes and lift up to 60 lbs.
- Flexibility to work in varying conditions and environments.
- Commitment to teamwork and assisting other departments as needed.
- Reliable, punctual, and dependable with a positive attitude.
