Position Overview:

This position is centered around service, requiring not only proficiency in customer relations but also a genuine enthusiasm for assisting pet owners. As a Canine Concierge, you will be the welcoming face of our establishment. Your primary responsibilities will include managing the check-in process for arriving clients, overseeing the check-out for departing clients, facilitating follow-up bookings for returning clients, promoting activity packages and daycare services, greeting all visitors, and addressing general inquiries about our offerings.
A Day in the Life:
Each day, you will arrive with a positive attitude, eager to assist our pet parents and their beloved companions. Dressed in our branded attire, you will manage our reception area by warmly welcoming guests and addressing their needs—whether it’s check-in, check-out, answering questions, or customizing our services to fit their requirements. Your ultimate aim is to discover how we can best support the pet parent and provide tailored solutions. You will multitask by answering phones, escorting dogs to their designated areas, distributing treats, or processing payments. Your role will involve not only engaging with the pets but also building rapport with their owners. You will document observations and be prepared to share insights with your supervisor and the pet parent. Additionally, you may find yourself cleaning up after pets, leaving with some fur on your clothes, and receiving plenty of affectionate greetings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver exceptional customer service by adhering to our service principles, ensuring every client is treated with respect and dignity to foster strong relationships.
- Handle all incoming communications, including phone calls, voicemails, and emails.
- Coordinate boarding reservations and schedule grooming, training, and temperament assessment appointments.
- Manage financial transactions, including cash and credit card processing, and ensure accurate reporting.
- Foster familiarity with clients and their pets, remembering names and preferences.
- Gather and verify all necessary information regarding a pet's visit, ensuring accuracy in our records.
- Collaborate closely with team members to address client and pet needs effectively.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of all services provided and offer appropriate solutions to client inquiries.
- Collect vaccination documentation from veterinary clinics and input it into our systems.
- Assist in managing waitlists during peak times and ensure optimal use of available accommodations.
- Act as a communication bridge between veterinarians and clients, keeping all parties informed of any ongoing issues.
- Proactively reach out to our top clients ahead of busy seasons to secure their reservations.
- Address customer relations challenges promptly, keeping our empowerment goals in mind.
- Ensure the facility consistently meets cleanliness and safety standards.
- Notify management when inventory levels are low in key areas, including retail and cleaning supplies.
- Maintain cleanliness in all common areas, ensuring they are free from hazards.
Team Qualities:
- A genuine passion for animal care and a willingness to learn about animal behavior to ensure their safety.
- Commitment to safe and gentle handling practices; aggressive or aversive methods are not tolerated.
- Customer service-oriented mindset, capable of managing difficult situations with empathy and professionalism.
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients about their pets, aiming to build lasting relationships.
- Strong multitasking skills and attention to detail, with the ability to adapt to changing tasks.
- Physical capability to perform various tasks, including lifting up to 60 lbs.
- Willingness to work in diverse environments, including outdoor settings and during busy periods.
- Ability to maintain a positive, team-oriented attitude and assist other departments as needed.
- Reliable and punctual, with a flexible schedule to accommodate the needs of the business.
