About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Director, College Foundation to join our team at Western Piedmont Community College. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing all advancement efforts, including fundraising, grant development, and community engagement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy to meet and exceed revenue goals.
  • Identify and cultivate relationships with major donors, foundations, and corporate partners.
  • Manage the Foundation's budget, finances, and operations, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
  • Supervise and support the Director of Grants and Special Projects in securing grants and other funding opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the College's Marketing Department to promote the Foundation's work and advance the College's mission.
  • Recruit and engage members for the Foundation Board, ensuring a strong and diverse leadership team.
  • Organize and facilitate quarterly board meetings, executive committee meetings, and other committee meetings as needed.
  • Perform other duties as requested by the College President, Foundation Board Chair, or the Foundation Board of Directors.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, with major coursework in education, business administration, or a related field.
  • Three years of prior experience in public contact, non-profit involvement, and/or fundraising.
  • Government and non-profit budgeting and accounting procedures, with demonstrated ability to prepare clear and concise administrative and financial reports.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Foundation By-laws and federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of grant development and management.
  • Knowledge of modern office practices, procedures, and equipment.
  • Ability to exercise discretion and judgment in handling confidential information.
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of current trends, research, and development in the area of assignment.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
  • Reception organization experience.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team on projects with critical timelines.
  • Demonstrated strong organizational skills and the ability to produce written documents in an orderly manner with minimal errors.
  • Energetic, self-motivated, and comfortable in public speaking situations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Notary public.
  • Ability to use accounting software and constituent management software.
  • A thorough knowledge of the Western Piedmont Community College service area, its history, and people.
