Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC). As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and coordinating mechanical projects, as well as reviewing and checking projects prepared by in-house engineers and architects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform design analyses and calculations for mechanical projects
  • Prepare final detailed working drawings, comparative cost analysis, and technical reports
  • Review and check projects prepared by in-house engineers and architects
  • Coordinate with other engineers and architects to ensure proper integration of building systems
  • Conduct studies, monitor project progress, and prepare quarterly reports
Requirements
  • Applying mechanical engineering theories, concepts, and principles to support construction projects and mechanical utility systems
  • Developing engineering designs and plans for mechanical utility systems
  • Interpreting mechanical engineering design specifications and conducting analysis and design of mechanical engineering projects
  • Producing results of analyses in writing to consolidate findings and evaluate recommendations
Qualifications
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program
  • New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check
  • Must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time
Working Conditions

This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites.
