About this Role:

Denver Public Schools is seeking a dedicated and passionate Secondary Special Education Teacher to join our team. As a Special Education Teacher, you will play a critical role in ensuring that all students have access to high-quality education and reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) that cater to the unique needs of students with special needs.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers to ensure seamless integration of special education services into the classroom.
  • Provide direct instruction and support to students with special needs, using evidence-based strategies and techniques.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, making data-driven decisions to inform instruction and drive student growth.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and other stakeholders to ensure that students receive the support they need to succeed.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current on best practices in special education and to enhance instructional skills.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education or related field required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Valid Colorado Department of Education (CDE) teaching license.
  • Ability to work with students of diverse backgrounds and abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
