Job Responsibilities

The Speech Language Pathologist at Cox Barton County Hospital will engage in a diverse range of practices, offering competitive compensation and a nurturing work atmosphere. You will have the opportunity to significantly influence patient outcomes while fostering strong relationships within a rural healthcare setting.

As a speech-language pathologist, your role will involve assessing, diagnosing, treating, and preventing communication and swallowing disorders in patients. You will develop and implement treatment strategies for issues such as stuttering, delayed language, swallowing difficulties, or voice disorders, based on your assessments and the recommendations of healthcare professionals.

Qualifications
  • Education
    • Required: Graduate of a Speech Pathology Program
    • Preferred: Masters or Doctorate from an accredited Speech Pathology Program
  • Experience
    • Preferred: 1 year of relevant experience
  • Skills
    • Strong clinical expertise, communication abilities, interpersonal skills, and organizational capabilities are essential
    • Self-motivated individual capable of working independently with minimal supervision
    • Demonstrated commitment to professional development through attendance at continuing education workshops and application of new techniques
    • Excellent communication skills and a positive demeanor are required
  • Licensure/Certification/Registration
    • Required: Missouri License in Speech Therapy
    • Must obtain BLS certification within 90 days
    • Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) or eligibility
