Job Title: Diesel Mechanic Preventative Maintenance Technician

Job Summary:

Ryder is seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic Preventative Maintenance Technician to join our team in Morrisville, NC. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing routine preventative maintenance, repairs, and diagnostics on heavy-duty vehicles.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine preventative maintenance tasks, including oil changes, brake and tire work, and other scheduled maintenance.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computers and other tools.
  • Replace defective components as instructed and perform facility maintenance duties.
  • Interact with customers/drivers to determine the nature of complaints and provide solutions.
  • Utilize key functions of Shop Management System and electronic documentation available.
  • Work in accordance with all federal and corporate compliance guidelines.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Vocational or technical certification or post-secondary degree preferred.
  • Basic tools required.
  • Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines.
  • Two years or more of a combination of classroom training and work experience in required experience preferred.
  • Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A preferred.

Benefits:

  • Competitive hourly pay: $29.00 per hour.
  • Certification bonus of $100 for each new ASE certification obtained up to $700.
  • Quarterly bonus: Ryder pays up to $500 every quarter - four times per year.
  • Sign-on bonus: Ryder pays $1,250 at 30 days and $1,250 at 90 days.
  • Monday to Friday schedule with weekends off.
  • Second shift: 2:30 pm - 11:00 pm.
