Life Enrichment Coordinator

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Life Enrichment Coordinator to join our team at Singh Development Company. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and providing activities and fitness programming for our residents, as well as coordinating our community volunteer program.

As a Life Enrichment Coordinator, you will work closely with our Life Enrichment Director to assess residents' interests, needs, and abilities, and provide quality activities programming both inside and outside of our community.

Your primary goal will be to encourage the participation and socialization of residents and volunteers, while maintaining a positive community environment.

Main Responsibilities:
  1. Assist Life Enrichment Director with coordinating and facilitating activities and events for residents, both inside and outside the community, designed to promote resident's creativity, physical and mental well-being, socialization, and fun
  2. Encourage resident socialization and participation in activities and events to minimize resident solidarity and promote a positive community environment
  3. Maintain inventory checklist of all supplies and materials required to enhance Life Enrichment program
  4. Coordinate the community volunteer program. Assign tasks to volunteers and encourage their participation in community events and activities programs
  5. Provide administrative duties to support the Life Enrichment team as assigned by the Life Enrichment Director
  6. Help welcome new residents upon move-in (balloons and framed announcement, shadow box/shelves decorated, etc.)
  7. Work alongside care staff to transport residents to activities and events
  8. Drive community vehicle
  9. Assist with all other duties as assigned by the Life Enrichment Director

Requirements:
  • Coursework in recreational therapy/gerontology is preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other computer applications
  • Preferred minimum one (1) year previous experience coordinating and conducting group activities
  • Experience should be relevant to working with seniors. Experience in caring for those with memory impairment is preferred
