Amentum is seeking a highly skilled MQ-9 UAS Pilot II to join our team. As a UAS Pilot II, you will be responsible for safely operating MQ-9 aircraft in various locations, both within the continental United States (CONUS) and outside the continental United States (OCONUS).
Key Responsibilities- Flight Operations: Participate in all phases of flight, including planning, briefing, execution, and debriefing, while adhering to military, civilian, and ICAO flight rules.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with FAA regulations and specific military and civilian flight rules.
- UAS Operations: Provide expertise in the operation of unmanned aircraft, including planning and performing various tasks.
- Training and Development: Develop briefing and training materials to support flight operations and plans.
- System Integration: Plan and perform the integration of in-process analog, digital, microwave, optical, and mechanical systems and equipment under ambient and environmental conditions.
- Technical Knowledge: Provide technical knowledge and experience with UAS operations to facilitate their safe and efficient integration into the National Airspace System (NAS).
- Clearance: Must have an active Top-Secret US Government clearance.
- Education: BA/BS from an accredited college or university in one of the following disciplines: engineering, business, logistics, management, math, sciences, and professional aeronautics.
- Experience: At least 5 years of experience in the performance and execution of US military requirements, with at least one year of MQ-9 pilot duties to US Naval/USAF UAS flight operations within the last 10 years.
- Qualifications: Qualified MQ-9 Pilot, or previously qualified MQ-9 Pilot (Form 8 within last 3 years), with at least 50 hours as MQ-9 Pilot-In-Command (PIC), and current FAA Class I or Class II Medical Certificate or DOD equivalent.
- Skills: Excellent verbal and written skills, with the ability to professionally interface with numerous levels of management, customers, and peers.
- Work Environment: Ability to work extended hours and travel as required, with the ability to work as a team to accomplish mission requirements.
- LOS L/R Pilot: Qualified MQ-9 Line of Sight Launch and Recovery (LOS L/R) Pilot or previously qualified MQ-9 LOS L/R Pilot (Form 8 within last 3 years).
- Operational Experience: Operational experience at a deployed location acting as an MQ-9 Pilot within last 5 years.
