Role Overview:We are in search of a Technical Program Manager to collaborate with exceptional leads and engineers in overseeing the scope, timeline, and interdependencies of projects. You will engage with the Autonomy Engineering teams from the initial feature definition through to integration and transition to the validation team. The ideal candidate will possess outstanding communication skills and relevant experience in ADAS/AD functionalities.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead the development and assessment of departmental roadmaps and objectives.
- Design and implement workflows for agile development teams based on program requirements.
- Work alongside engineers and feature owners to drive Rivian's features through their entire lifecycle.
- Assist the team in formulating requirements, interface specifications, architecture, and design documentation.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders, including feature owners, software, hardware, and vehicle testing teams, to identify dependencies and effectively eliminate bottlenecks.
- Proactively identify risks and create actionable mitigation strategies to ensure team success.
- Provide strong leadership by reframing challenges when the team encounters ambiguity or obstacles, guiding them towards resolving prioritized issues.
- Skillfully manage stakeholder expectations regarding both technical and non-technical challenges.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline with over 5 years of relevant experience.
- 5+ years of recent experience in Program/Project Management, overseeing the planning and execution of complex software initiatives.
- Proficient in managing project scope and requirements using tools such as Jama and JIRA.
- Experienced in agile methodologies and conducting scrum meetings.
- Skilled in scheduling and coordinating activities and resources for hardware/software/vehicle integration and regression testing.
- Demonstrated success in software development project planning, progress tracking, and risk management.
- Knowledgeable in developing comprehensive feature development roadmaps and sprint planning.
- Understanding of hardware/software integration for distributed systems, managing project dependencies, and negotiating parallel activities to enhance project execution.
- Exceptional communication, organizational, and collaborative abilities.
- Experience managing projects related to ADAS/AD.
- Familiarity with various sensor technologies, including camera, RADAR, LIDAR, ultrasonic, and vehicle state sensors.
- Support for hardware and software integration activities, including participation in network definition, trade studies, and development testing.
- Experience in rapidly expanding businesses with a global presence.
- Able to navigate ambiguity and communicate effectively.
Salary Range for California Based Applicants: $167,000 - $209,000; actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law. Rivian offers comprehensive medical/Rx, dental, and vision insurance packages for full-time employees and their eligible dependents, with coverage commencing on the first day of employment.
