Position Overview
Turner & Townsend is in search of a Lead Construction Scheduler to collaborate with our team and a prominent technology client in overseeing scheduling for a large-scale data center construction initiative.
The Scheduler should possess experience in coordinating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to design, develop, and implement construction schedules for critical facilities, including both new constructions and retrofitting existing operational sites.
The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of scheduling best practices, resource and cost-loaded scheduling, and overall construction project management, along with the interpersonal skills necessary to work closely with internal project stakeholders on a daily basis.
The Scheduler will be accountable for comprehensive service delivery and will serve as the primary day-to-day client liaison, ensuring that client goals are achieved through the provision of a value-added service. Success in this role requires excellent communication skills and comfort in a client-facing capacity.
Key Responsibilities:
Regular travel to construction sites is anticipated. Collaborate effectively with stakeholders, clients, contractors, and subcontractors on a daily basis. Develop and maintain a comprehensive construction program schedule utilizing Primavera P6 and Tableau for multi-project environments. Ensure that schedule-related data from vendors, suppliers, engineering, and construction contractors is integrated into the planning and scheduling systems. Implement project planning and scheduling strategies, plans, and procedures that reflect both company and contractor roles, responsibilities, and expectations. Actively engage with project managers, construction firms, and subcontractors to uphold schedule integrity. Provide quality assurance and interface with project functional groups and contractors regarding schedule performance tracking and reporting. Coordinate and organize multiple sources of schedule inputs and performance data into a master schedule platform, delivering project/program status reports as required. Prepare and update progress reports as needed, including contributions to the monthly project report and specific presentations. Generate high-level and 1, 3, 6-month look-ahead reports from P6 for reporting purposes. Conduct probabilistic analysis on integrated schedules and contractor schedules. Proactively monitor and communicate any potential project issues that could impact the schedule. Perform necessary project schedule analysis, critical path analysis, and schedule risk analysis for the overall project. Analyze deviations from the baseline in the project master schedule, identifying bottlenecks and delays, proposing corrective actions, and highlighting the overall schedule impact of any variances or change orders.Required Qualifications:
Experience in mission-critical environments is preferred, including commissioning activities. Site-level construction experience is essential, with a solid understanding of the construction process. Knowledge of best practices related to the delivery of construction programs is required. Extensive experience in creating and managing large-scale construction schedules using Primavera P6. A background in project controls is advantageous. Familiarity with construction drawings, specifications, and sequencing is necessary. Ability to work independently is crucial. Capable of producing detailed concept-level schedules from limited project information, identifying major phases and dependencies. Collaborate closely with various project disciplines to ensure the accuracy and completeness of schedules while maintaining independence as a scheduler to advise project management on critical issues. Knowledge of system start-up sequences and major dependencies is essential. Proficient in converting data into Tableau reports and graphics. Excellent collaboration and communication skills are mandatory. A BS Degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field; or equivalent experience is required. PSP certification by AACE in planning/scheduling is beneficial. EIT certification is preferred.Additional Information
