Job Summary:
The Chief Operating Officer (COO) is a senior leadership position responsible for leading and directing the operations of Sutter Medical Center Sacramento. The COO will establish a managerial climate that encourages teamwork and promotes collegial collaboration among all team members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and direct assigned operations to ensure smooth and effective delivery of patient care and services.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with employees, medical staff, and the Board of Directors.
- Develop and implement operational strategies to improve quality of care, reduce costs, and enhance patient satisfaction.
- Manage and oversee the development of budgets, financial plans, and performance metrics.
- Recruit, train, and develop high-performing teams to achieve operational excellence.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and improvement initiatives.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business administration, public health, or a related field.
- Master's degree in healthcare administration, business administration, public health, or a related field preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in healthcare operations management, with a significant portion in senior leadership roles.
- Proven track record of managing operational functions within a healthcare organization, including hospitals, clinics, or other healthcare facilities.
- Experience working in a non-profit healthcare environment is highly desirable.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience managing multiple sites or facilities within a healthcare network.
- Demonstrated success in standardizing operations and ensuring consistency across different locations.
- Strong understanding of the California managed care and healthcare industries, including regulatory environments.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
