Job Overview

Salary:
DeCook Excavating is seeking a dedicated full-time seasonal Lawn Care Specialist to enhance our landscaping team. This position REQUIRES a valid fertilizer license. Opportunities for winter work are available for snow removal.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform mowing, aeration, and fertilization of residential and commercial lawns to meet company and client standards.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and follow instructions from supervisors and managers.
  • Administer fertilizer applications with precision and attention to detail.
  • Keep accurate records of application quantities for billing and reporting purposes.
  • Inform clients about the proper use and application of fertilizers.
  • Ensure a safe working environment by utilizing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Conduct routine maintenance on company tools, equipment, and vehicles.
  • Arrive at the designated work location punctually each day.
  • Engage with clients as necessary to guarantee satisfaction with services rendered.
  • Maintain accurate timesheet documentation.
  • Participate in training sessions as required by management.
  • Consistently represent the company’s values, demonstrating integrity and professionalism.

Physical Requirements:

  • Capability to operate hand tools, power tools, small engines, and heavy machinery, as well as handle various landscaping materials.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs repeatedly throughout the work shift.
  • Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in diverse weather conditions, including heat, humidity, rain, dust, noise, and cold.
  • Occasional weekend work may be required.

Qualifications:

  • Possession of a valid Fertilizer License from the Minnesota Department of Agriculture.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record if operating any company vehicle.
  • Highly motivated with a keen attention to detail.
  • Previous experience in landscaping is preferred.
