Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Radiology Technologist to join our team at Advocate Aurora Health. As a Radiology Technologist, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures, including general diagnostic and fluoroscopic exams. You will work closely with patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and high-quality imaging results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Competently perform basic and intermediate radiographic procedures, including general diagnostic and fluoroscopic exams.
  • Communicate effectively with patients to explain procedures, obtain clinical history, and confirm patient understanding.
  • Position patients and select exposure factors for various radiologic examinations, ensuring patient safety and radiation protection.
  • Identify patients, label images, and process images to ensure quality and accuracy.
  • Assist and communicate with radiologists, and prepare and maintain records in accordance with regulatory agencies.
  • Perform patient positioning and transporting duties, requiring lifting and pushing/pulling, while utilizing proper technique.

Requirements
  • Radiographer license issued by the state of Wisconsin.
  • Registered Technologist (RT) registration issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA), obtained within 6 months.

Education and Experience
  • Advanced training beyond High School, including completion of an accredited or approved program in Radiologic Technology.
  • No experience required.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Competent in radiology positioning and techniques.
  • Knowledge of basic radiation safety and radiology equipment.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively with a team.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
  • Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders frequently throughout the workday.
  • Must be able to stand/walk for majority of the day.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to waist, and up to 20 lbs. over the head.
  • Must be able to push/pull with 30 lbs. of force, and perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present.
