Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Cardiac Monitor Technician to join our team at Nuvance Health. As a Cardiac Monitor Technician, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our cardiac monitoring systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide nursing care to patients under the direction of a registered nurse, prioritizing assignments and responding promptly to patient needs.
  • Perform procedures as identified by the PCT Skills Checklist, referring to and utilizing appropriate resources.
  • Maintain a safe patient environment, adhering to Norwalk Hospital Policies and Procedures.
  • Show initiative in noting and offering assistance with unit needs.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, visitors, and coworkers, observing and reporting changes in patient condition, and documenting patient data accurately.
  • Participate in educational programs to maintain or increase job skills, including required inservices and educational programs.
  • Maintain neat and orderly appearance and environment, completing all competency requirements and annual requirements as established by the staff development department and the nurse manager.
  • Utilize supplies and equipment in a cost-efficient and proper manner, reporting problems with supplies and equipment to appropriate personnel for corrective action.
  • Assure that all supplies are needed to maintain the monitor room, performing other duties as assigned and fulfilling all compliance responsibilities related to the position.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required; experience in a hospital setting is preferred but not required.
  • Active CNA certification in the state of Connecticut is preferred; BLS/CPR is preferred.
Work Environment

This is a full-time position with a standard 40-hour workweek, with the employee working evenings and nights alternating. The work schedule is 8 hours per shift, with a 1-day break in between shifts.

This position is located at Norwalk-34 Maple St, with the department being Cardiac Monitor Techs. The exempt status is No, and the grade is U2. The salary range is $ Hourly, with the education requirement being HS Graduate or Equivalent.
