Position Overview:

THE ROLE

National Louis University (NLU) is excited to invite applications for a Faculty Position in School Psychology. This is a full-time, renewable Professional Practice track role (non-tenure).

The School Psychology Program at NLU is accredited by NASP and is situated in the vibrant Chicago area. Our diverse student population includes over 40% from racially, ethnically, and linguistically underrepresented groups in the field. The program is dedicated to training school psychologists who are culturally responsive problem solvers, employing both direct and indirect research-based interventions to enhance outcomes for all PK-12 students.

Key Responsibilities:

The Faculty member will play a pivotal role in delivering courses within the School Psychology Program, focusing on academic, behavioral, and social-emotional interventions and assessments; advising Ed.S. students; and contributing to the School Psychology profession and the National College of Education. The successful candidate will emphasize teaching, field supervision, and service as integral components of their responsibilities. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in graduate education and professional practice in PK-12 MTSS service delivery, academic and behavioral problem-solving consultation, and program evaluation.

We seek a collaborative colleague with experience as a school psychology educator or extensive school-based practice in delivering high-quality contemporary school psychology services in PK-12 environments, along with significant adjunct teaching experience in school psychology.

Qualifications:

  • A doctorate in School Psychology or a closely related field, with preference for graduates from APA- and/or NASP-approved programs.
  • Licensure in School Psychology or eligibility for licensure through the Illinois State Board of Education.
  • Extensive experience addressing the academic needs of PK-12 students through evidence-based practices, either as a practitioner or educator.
  • Demonstrated experience in MTSS service delivery in PK-12 settings.

Additionally, preference will be given to candidates who possess:

  • A doctoral degree specifically in School Psychology.
  • A proven record of excellent teaching at the university level.
  • Strong supervision and mentorship skills for school psychology graduate students.
  • The ability to foster positive collaborative relationships with field supervisors across the region.
  • Nationally Certified School Psychology (NCSP) status.
  • Three or more years of experience in PK-12 settings.
